Take Action!

Do you ever find you have a challenging new marketing idea on your “to do” list and it just stays on the list?

From time to time we all avoid the more challenging actions.  Here are three ways to move from idea to action:

  1. Take one small step.  Say you want to visit a local networking group. A small step might be looking them up on the internet and finding out who to contact.
  2. Do it first.  You can spoil a whole day putting off a challenging action. So why not get it done first thing in the morning? Enjoy the rest of the day feeling good about your accomplishment.
  3. Bookend.  Just before you take the action, send a friend an e-mail saying, “About to make the call to Jordan at Google.” Make the call. Then send the same friend an e-mail saying, “Made the call. Went better than I thought.” Your friend feels good about supporting you. You feel good about getting it done!
