Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3
Will every marketing idea work perfectly for you? Not likely.
However, if an idea sounds like it could work; why not test it out in a low-cost/no-cost, low-risk way? If it succeeds, congratulations! If it fails, congratulations! You now have good information and you can move on to something else.
Here are some ideas you may not have tried before and a way to test each one in a no-cost, low-cost way:
Opt-in e-mail lists can help you make sales
Create a list of ten friendly e-mail addresses. Send out one piece of value-rich information and ask them to sign up for a monthly tip. See how many say “yes”.
Networking can lead to new business opportunities
Go to one networking event with a friend. Do your best to be helpful to others while you are there. Next day, review your findings with your friend.
Strategic alliances can benefit both parties
Who do you know who offers complementary services or products to your ideal client? Invite one of these people to a coffee meeting to discuss how you might help each other attract more business.
What new marketing idea have you tested in the last month? Last three months? What would you be willing to test in the next few weeks?
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you too can become great.”
– Mark Twain, Author
